The last time I blogged about this room it was a nursery and I was a month away from delivering a baby. I went with a soothing gray and white palette, all neutral and peaceful for a little one.
Somehow it’s already 2 and a half years later and time to convert it to a guest room. A colorful one.
It’s a mix and match room of mostly things from other parts of the house plus the inspiration piece–a new quilt and pillow set.
You might remember the aqua dresser from my entryway that it turns out perfectly matches the aqua accent in the quilt. The red lamps I’ve had for a few years.
That mirror is a yard sale piece my father in law picked up for me. He knows my love of oval mirrors!
It’s a happy colorful energetic look with a taste of Morocco in the quilt.
The color extends outside as well. We usually think of window boxes as good for bringing color to the exterior of the house but in this room it feels like there are fresh flowers actually IN the room. They’re up close and really nice as an accent.
The bed is a Craigslist bit we found years ago and painted white. Still holding onto her beauty…
So there it is. The remade room with only the bird artwork and the chair remaining from its former life as a nursery.
And I can’t even pretend I’m not thrilled that I did most of my shopping for this room from my own house….
